Opening Hours and Admission Prices
It's a really exciting time for us at the moment as we enter the final phase of a major redevelopment programme to improve our visitor experience. The complete transformation of the entire top floor of our venue will include installing an amazing new sound and vibration exhibition, nature-based experimentation zone and recombobulation room (a quiet room for people who need time away from the hustle and bustle of the centre), as well as refreshed welcome area, café and shop.
We can't wait to reopen but we can only do so once the work is complete. We can confirm that our plan is to reopen on Saturday 17 October with tickets going on sale in early August.
We know this feels like a long time to wait but we can assure you it will be worth it! It is so important to us that when we do open our doors again, it is safe and that you receive an amazing, exciting, inspirational and educational day out.
We may still be closed but there's plenty of ways you can interact with us through Science@Home, fun activities for children and their families to enjoy together at home. If you haven’t done any yet, don’t worry, they’re available to do at any time. Visit the Science@Home pages to take a look.
If you are an annual pass holder, we would like to reassure you that any 'lost days' due to our closure, will be added to your pass when we reopen. There's no need to do anything at this time. Once we have a confirmed reopening date we will contact you with the details and confirmation of your pass extension.
If you have any queries, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We can't wait to welcome you back to the Science Centre soon. Thank you!

Did you know that Winchester Science Centre is a self-funded registered educational charity?
Winchester Science Centre is an educational centre and visitor attraction. The charity is dependent on visitors for regular income to maintain the hands-on exhibits and run the planetarium cinema. As a charity, Winchester Science Centre is able to take advantage of Gift Aid rules affecting admission donations. If you are a UK taxpayer and you make a donation that is 10% more than the standard admission charge, then the Government will give the charity an extra 25% on top of your donation. It is called a Gift Aid visit. The extra money goes towards the upkeep of the site, building and new developments and is essential to ensuring that the charity can pay its bills each year.
