Winchester Science Centre is the leading science and discovery centre in the South. It's the perfect place for a media or influencer visit. It's also an awesome filming and photography location. The Science Centre is designed for families with children who are age five to 12 years old. We have two floors filled with immersive and interactive exhibits and live science shows and demos that really fire the imagination. We also have the largest standalone planetarium in the UK and Bio:Space, an amazing nature-based activity zone. Come and share our passion for science.

We're not just an amazing visitor attraction – we're an educational charity too. It's our job to spark curiosity in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) in everyone – no matter what their age, gender, ability or background.

If you'd like to get in touch with a media-related enquiry, please email us or call us on 01962 863791. Our Press Office is open 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. Media and influencer visits

Are you a working member of a media publication or an influencer with a similar audience to ours? We'd love to welcome you to the Science Centre. We're happy to consider requests for free media tickets. All you need to do is to contact us no more than two days before you want to visit and give us the following information:

  • Your name, job role and publication or name and social media profile link
  • Tell us how the Science Centre will feature in your article or on your social channels
  • The date you want to visit and preferred arrival time
  • The number of people you'll be bringing who are three years and over
  • The number of children you'll be bringing who are two years and under

The Press Office is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. If you want to visit during the weekend or on a Bank Holiday, you'll need to make your request by noon on the Thursday before. If your request is successful, we'll let you know by email. When it's busy we may have to turn down your request.

You can only use your media ticket on the day it's issued. It won't include entrance to the Planetarium unless we've agreed that before you visit. If you'd like to do an interview for your article, please get in touch in advance.

Filming and photography

Want to film or take photos at the Science Centre? We love supporting small or large productions, news broadcasts and photo shoots. Please get in touch with us at least 10 working days before you'd like to film. We may charge a location fee if your project is for commerical reasons or will impact our running of the Science Centre. Get in touch to find out more.
