Van Gogh Alive Winchester: Step into Vincent’s vivid world
Immerse yourself in the most visited multisensory experience in the world as his masterpieces come to life, giving you the sensation of being amongst his paintings.
This is no ordinary art exhibition. Van Gogh’s works have been exhibited and admired for over a century. But never like this. In a feeling that is simultaneously enchanting, entertaining and educational, you will find yourself interacting with art in ways never imagined.
Art and science meet in perfect harmony in this exhibition at Winchester Science Centre. Through the play of light, colour and sound, discover how technology transforms the way we see and feel. Experience how your senses respond to changing light and motion, revealing the hidden science behind the beauty that inspired Van Gogh’s most iconic works.
The digital experience lasts around 45 minutes, but your visit doesn’t have to end there. Guests are encouraged to stay and explore the Sunflower Room, try some sketching of their own, enjoy drinks and snacks at the bar and a retail range in our shop. We anticipate most audiences will spend around 90 minutes.
Visitors also have the opportunity to add Van Gogh Alive to their general admission ticket to the science centre, with a showtime at 2:15pm on weekends and during school holidays. Please note this experience does not include the Sketch and Sip session.
