What is a bubble? Let’s find out together! Come and play with bubbles, dance with bubbles, explore nature’s bubbles and even get inside bubbles. There’s so much science fun in store, you won’t even realise you’ll be learning along the way!
Grab a giant bubble wand and get creative with bubble play on the South Downs Lawn. What shape does a triangle bubble wand make? And how big can you make your bubble? We can’t wait to find out! Then settle down for a bubble storytime session while you watch bubbles float away across the stunning skyline of the South Downs National Park.
The bubble fun doesn’t stop inside. Take part in a bubble party at regular intervals throughout the day in Science Live and join the audience of The Bubble Show in the Science Theatre. In this 20-minute free live show, watch as exciting bubble experiments bring to life the chemistry of the states of matter and the physics of light.
And did you know that bubbles aren’t just manmade, they can be found in nature too. Use microscopes to explore how nature’s bubbles work and take part in a fun make and take bubble wand activity. Plus, pull your best poses with some bubble-tastic photo opportunities including putting yourself in a giant bubble!
Don't miss out on all the usual Science Centre fun too! Take a break from all the bubble action in The Planetarium with the return of the ultimate family summer journey, Solar System Adventure, a live presenter-led show. Or be wowed by the colourful visuals of We Are Stars, a subtitled film show that will take families on an adventure through space and time.*
And don’t forget our two floors of exciting hands-on fun! Discover more about sound, hearing and vibration on the upper floor. Climb inside a giant guitar. Explore the acoustic rocket. And even learn some British Sign Language. On the lower floor blast off on a journey through Explorer:Space. Discover more about what it’s like to live and work in space in our interactive space zone.
*Please note, the Planetarium is an additional £4 cost
