Mission Space - live Planetarium show

Dates: 11th May to 7th July 2024 Weekends and school holidays
Location: Planetarium
Duration: 30 minutes
Tickets: £4 plus general admission

Blast off into the solar system on a Mission Space adventure. Discover more about the planets, spacecrafts and satellites above us as you fly through the stars in an out-of-this-world planetarium show.

Mission Space is a presenter-led live show that is a perfect introduction to the stars and planets. It’s great for the whole family.

Hold on tight as our expert Planetarium pilot whisks you from Winchester into the night sky. Learn more about the awesome scale of our solar system as you soar among the planets. You'll discover more about the man-made objects that orbit Earth as you visit the International Space Station and some of our satellites. Then it’s off into space! Explore the Moon landings and find out about Mars and the missions that have gone there. You’ll even make a stop at Jupiter and find out about some of our interstellar space missions. This might just be the biggest journey you’ll make this year!

Accessibility information for Mission Space

The Planetarium is accessible so everyone can have a special experience here. Planetarium shows are unusual and exciting experiences.  All our shows are relaxed and fun with calm presentations. We call them 'chatterbox shows'.  If you want to call out, ask questions or swap ideas with your group about what you can see, go right ahead.

It's not super dark and you can move around, go out and come back in if you like. If you have a wheelchair, we have spaces for you to sit with seats for your family and friends. The stairs have lights to make them easy to see.

We've got super 3D printed models and NASA's official tactile books. You can use them when you watch the show. We also have an induction loop. Sensitive to loud noises? You can borrow ear defenders from us before the show starts.

***On Wednesday, 29th May, and Sunday, 23rd June, a British Sign Language interpreter will be signing during the 10.15am and 4pm shows. Talk to our Accessibility team so we can reserve a seat for you near the front.***
