If you've never been inside the Planetarium before, now's your chance! The Northern Lights experience isn't a show, it's an exciting sneak peek inside our magical Planetarium. For a limited time each day, we’re opening the doors to the Planetarium for free as part of Zero Degrees. Experience your very own wow moment as you see a spectacular view of the Northern Lights projected onto the dome screen. As this isn't a show, we won't be flying around the Solar System, but you'll get to sample the unique atmosphere of the Planetarium and hopefully learn something about the Northern Lights. Find out more on our Northern Lights event page.

If that little taster has got you excited for more, why not book a 20-minute live Planetarium show? Get set for the coolest family space journey this winter, Sub-zero Space Adventure. Explore the stars and planets of our solar system and discover the icy secrets of space in this out-of-this-world Planetarium experience. Please be aware that Plantearium shows have an additional cost.

In Extreme Weather, an exciting free science show, live experiments and fascinating facts will shed light on the unexpected, and often severe, weather we see around the world. This action-packed 20-minute show will take an in-depth look into some of our most crazy weather systems.

Thankfully the weather in Hampshire isn’t usually that extreme, but we still need your help to monitor it. Head to the Bio:Space weather station to grab some weather measuring tools and record how the weather is changing throughout the day. Or why not create your own weather in Science Live? Get hands-on with live science and create your very own cloud in a bottle at various times throughout the day.

And don’t forget all the other hands-on fun on offer! Discover more about sound, hearing and vibration on the upper floor. Climb inside a giant guitar. Explore the acoustic rocket. And even learn some British Sign Language. On the lower floor blast off on a journey through Explorer:Space. Discover more about what it’s like to live and work in space in our interactive space zone.
