Our Dino Rangers are back with some roar-cus fun for families this May half term.
Mini palaeontologists are needed to join the Science Centre excavation team in our Discovery Zone. Grab a brush and start digging to find signs of dinosaurs. Plus, there’s a real fossil handling collection waiting to be discovered. Come and hold real and replica dinosaur fossils that show what these amazing creatures might have been like millions of years ago.
Trixie the baby Triceratops and Patrick the Parasaurolophus will be out and about meeting friends and posing for some t-riffic photos. And get set for some Brontosaurus-sized fun in live science show, The Dino Show! Join us on a prehistoric time travel adventure to find out how our dinosaur friends lived. We’ll be using dino-mite demos and experiments to explore what the Earth was like when dinosaurs roamed. Nothing is going to tricera-top this.
Over in the Planetarium we'll be zooming around space and exploring the solar system. In live show, Solar System Stars, join us as we explore the planets and discover some of the hidden mysteries of the constellations that surround them. And in subtitled film show, Astronaut, join Chad, a test astronaut, and discover everything that space can throw at him.*
And don’t forget all the other hands-on fun on offer! Venture inside our enormous 10m long playable guitar, experience the wonder of acoustics inside the sonic rocket and operate the crane in the role play construction area. Take a space selfie in the astronaut suit, build a tower that can survive an earthquake and discover the laugh out loud optical illusion of the Little Big Room. No matter what age you are, you can explore, play, create and discover why science isn’t just for scientists!
*Please note, the Planetarium is an additional £4 cost
