22nd May to 1st June
Are you ready for some science fun this May half term?
Live science is back in the Science Theatre this May half term! Families are invited to join our Inspirers for an action‑packed 20‑minute show exploring the amazing science of sound, free with general admission.
What is sound? How does it travel? And can fire really dance? Audiences will uncover the science behind the sounds we hear every day. Through daring demonstrations and exciting experiments, discover how vibrations move through the air, how everyday objects can be turned into loudspeakers using an audio exciter, and how sound waves shape the world around us.
Plus, there’ll be space adventures in the Planetarium, huge ‘don’t try this at home’ demos in Science Live and two floors of hands-on exhibits not to be missed.
The Science Centre is open on weekends and during the school holidays. Don't forget to book your tickets in advance and save up to 20%!
