Live science shows and demonstrations are free with general admission.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to popular demand, pre-booking is recommended for Easter holidays - this will guarantee admission to the Science Centre. Once we reach capacity, we will be unable to admit further visitors into the building. Sounds Interesting Activities
Hot sounds: Live science shows
Join incredible presenters through an interactive journey into what sound actually is, with exciting demonstrations, audience participation and enthralling stories showcasing the fundamentals of sound.
Live shows will take place daily at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 14:00 and 15:00*. Each show lasts approximately 25 minutes in length and is best suited for ages 5 yr+.
Visitors will be required to reserve tickets to the live science show in the Space Marquee. This will offered as a option when booking online in advance/on the day of your visit. Tickets for these shows are free and on a first come, first served basis.
*Except on the 29th March and 1st April.
Science Busking
Throughout the day our expert science communicators will be touring the Centre with weird and wonderful demonstrations involving sound! Witness objects levitating in the air, experience truly strange instruments and explore the secrets of sound!
Invention Studio
The Invention studio will be transformed into exploring all things sound, with paper musical instruments, unusual ways of ‘seeing’ sound and plenty more to experiment with!
All of these amazing activities are free with a General Entry ticket to the Science Centre. Please be aware that some activities are weather-dependent and that not all activities can be guaranteed on any particular day.
Planetarium Shows
A daily programme of live, presenter-led shows and 360° fulldome films.

Planetarium shows are ticketed and are not included in General Admission. Savings are available for those who book General Admission and Planetarium tickets in the same transaction and for Annual Pass holders.
The Hub Café
The onsite café stocks a range of hot and cold lunch and snacks including jacket potatoes, paninis, sandwiches, cakes, fruit and snacks and fresh coffee, speciality teas, cold drinks and ice creams.
Picnic tables are available indoors and in the outside picnic and play area. Seating in the café is reserved for those purchasing food and drink onsite.
How to book
Easter holiday activities (excluding planetarium shows) are free of charge for Annual Pass holders and included in General Admission tickets. Visitors will be required to reserve tickets to the live science show in the Space Marquee. This will offered as a option when booking online in advance/on the day of your visit. Tickets for these shows are free and on a first come, first served basis.
Buy tickets online in advance and save 10%. Further savings available when you book three tickets or more.
