Can You Stomach It?

Dates: 7th October to 26th November 2023 Weekends and school holidays
Location: Science Theatre
Duration: 20 mins
Tickets: Free with general admission

Discover the science behind the oozes, squelches and gurgles of our digestive system in Can You Stomach It?, a brand new free live science show.

It’s trick or treat season! But what happens to those tasty snacks once they’ve been popped into our mouths? Let’s find out!

Through exciting experiments and demos we'll make science, as well as snacks, easy to swallow. Follow the slurps, squelches and squishes of our food’s digestive journey from our mouth, through the stomach, around the intestines and then out the other end.

We’ll also be tackling important digestive questions. How long are our small intestines? How does milk of magnesia help us with indigestion? And exactly what gasses are there in our farts? It’s time to find out. We’ve got a gut feeling you’re going to love this one!
