Priority School Pass

If you have been given a priority school pass please follow the instructions below to book your visit.

How to book

You do not need to book in advance but we would highly recommend that you do to guarantee admission. To book in advance simply click on the 'book now' button below. This will take you to our online box office, where you will be required to follow these steps:

  1. You will need your Priority School Pass when making your booking.
  2. Select the date you wish to visit
  3. Select how many tickets are required (your pass is valid for up to five people), and click 'add to basket'
  4. You'll next have the option to add a planetarium show. Simply select the show you would like to book and the number of tickets required and 'add to basket'.
  5. If you are visiting at a weekend or during a school holiday, you will now have the option to book a free live science show. Select the number of tickets you require and click 'add to basket'
  6. You will now be presented with your 'shopping basket'. Please type the annual pass numbers featured on the back of your card into the boxes provided. Use a different pass number for every member of your group.
  7. Please write down your booking reference and keep it with your pass as you will require both on the day of your visit.

Thank you! We hope you enjoy your visit.

When can I come?

There are no restrictions other than availability. We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Who can come?

These annual passes are intended for pupils from participating schools and their families. One pass is entitles free entry to Winchester Science Centre for up to five people. All groups must include at least one adult and one child.

Is there onsite parking and do I have to pay?

There is a car park at the Science Centre. A parking permit has been included in the Priority Pass Pack. Simply place the parking permit on the dashboard so that it is visible through the windscreen.

The car park can reach full capacity on busy days (typically cold/wet weather days at weekends and during school holidays) and in this instance it is likely the Science Centre will operate a park and ride shuttle bus service. If a park and ride service is being used you will be required to pay the Park & Ride car park charge but we will reimburse the cost on arrival at the Science Centre.

Are there any hidden costs?

There are no hidden costs. Your visit is completely free – it covers parking, entry, a live science show and a planetarium show. You can buy lunch in our on-site café or bring your own packed lunch.

If you do not have access to the internet and need assistance, please call 01962 863 791 or email with your contact details and one of our team will call you back.

Why is Winchester Science Centre providing these passes to schools?

Winchester Science Centre is an educational charity with the aim of making science fun and accessible to all. We are piloting the ‘priority school pass’ in a select number of schools within our region to boost access to science, technology, engineering and maths for families, through providing free admission.
