High voltage! Be super-charged this Summer Half Term
Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium has an electrifying programme of live shows and demonstrations for children and families this Summer Half Term (26 May- 5 June).
High Voltage! is a shockingly good live show presented by the Centre’s professional science communicators that takes the audience on a thrilling exploration of electricity. Shows take place daily alongside a series of exciting and thought-provoking electricity-themed demonstrations.
Dr Ben Littlefield, Head of Education at Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium said: "We take electricity for granted in our everyday lives expecting it to light up our world at the flick of a switch, but how did we tame such a strange and enigmatic thing? High Voltage! explores the very history of this amazing flow of energy, taking audiences from the cat-rubbing experiences of the Ancient Greeks right through to Nikola Tesla’s dream for electricity for all. The story is explored using classic and exciting electricity demonstrations designed to wow and spark curiosity".
