Free Science Pop-up in Southampton for British Science Week
Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium is bringing the world of science to Westquay Shopping Centre on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March, and to the University of Southampton’s Science and Engineering Day on Saturday 16 March, for British Science Week.
Join the team at Westquay for fun and free hands-on science activities and an exciting live science show delivered by the Science Centre’s team of Inspirers and a host of volunteer STEM Ambassadors.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for children and adults to get a taste of the exciting and essential world of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths” explained Ben Ward, Chief Executive at Winchester Science Centre. “We’re an educational charity on a mission to spark curiosity in STEM and provide inspiring science for all. We’re thrilled to welcome over 180,000 visitors to the Science Centre annually but events like this provide an opportunity for us to meet families who perhaps haven’t visited and that’s really exciting”
The hands-on demonstrations and live science shows are free to enjoy and are repeated throughout the weekend from 10am at Westquay Shopping Centre, Southampton.
For Science and Engineering Day on Saturday 16 March, you’ll need to book free tickets in advance via the event website www.sotsef.co.uk.
British Science Week is a 10-day celebration of STEM run by the British Science Association.
