Sleepover at the Science Centre
Winchester Science Centre now offers schools and groups the chance to have an exciting and memorable sleepover experience.
Campers can sleep among the exhibits- snuggle down in the Under the Sea Zone, wake up next to Newton’s Cradle or sleep in the shadow of the Voice Trunk!
A basic sleepover package is available from £35.00 per person inc VAT (Minimum 75 required). This typical standard package would include access to the Science Centre from 6.30pm with all exhibits operating for at least 3 hours, a hot drink and a biscuit. The next morning each person would have breakfast of cereal, Croissant and a drink and would finish their experience with a planetarium full dome film show.
Sleepovers are tailored to the group’s requirements. In addition to a basic package, there are a wide range of bespoke options for any group which could include hands on science shows, a variety of science workshops, support materials, hot meals and live planetarium shows. Please enquire for costs.
Activities can be provided for Beavers, Cubs and Brownies to help towards achieving a space, stargazer or astronomy badge. Please enquire for costs.
A recommended ratio of 1:6 is suggested for adequate supervision throughout the visit and all sleeping kit needs to be provided by each participant.
A typical evening involves:
Arrival from 6.30pm
Welcome and Safety Briefing around 7pm
Exhibit time with hot chocolate and cookie
Begin bedding down around 10pm with exhibits turning off
