The 3rd Annual STEMtech Conference and Showcase – Skilled for Success - takes place at the Telford International Centre on 13-14 June 2016. The Conference is the must-attend event for any principal, head teacher, department head, keystage leaders and business managers looking to understand how to create, sustain and build engagement in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) learning.
To be held at the Telford International Centre, the event is designed to support the development and advancement of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths education and careers in the UK and overseas. This annual event showcases, celebrates, recognises and helps drive innovative and integrated approaches to STEM teaching and learning and works with major industry partners to ensure our young people are developing the skills, experience and motivation needed for the future.
There will be a range of high profile speakers as well as a number of brand new seminars and workshops showcasing new qualifications in STEM. For understanding, gaining ideas or networking STEMtech is an unmissable event.

This year’s theme is ‘Skilled for Success’ and we are very pleased to have representatives from both the academic field and business taking part in the Conference. With advances in technology transforming the STEM market, we are really looking forward to our keynote address from Muhammed Chaudhry of the Silicon Valley Education Foundation, who will be discussing how to increasing and accelerate student achievement by leveraging technology at scale."

The two day event comprises four parts:
1. Teacher-focussed CPD Event, Monday 13 June: Designed for secondary teachers, this CPD focussed event is hosted by Technology Supplies and Timstar with plenary sessions, practical workshops and exhibition viewing. This is an unrivalled chance to learn from and work with the most forward-thinking individuals and organisations in STEM education.
2. Networking Conference Dinner, Monday 13 June: A new event for 2016 is a networking conference dinner on the Monday night, with keynote speeches from Muhammed Chaudhry of the Silicon Valley Education Foundation, Michael Brown of Siemens and Paul Hinkins of Telford & Wrekin Business Board. The evening kicks off with a drinks reception and a chance for attendees to visit the exhibition and talk to suppliers and organisations supporting STEM teaching and learning.
3. Primary Fringe Event, Tuesday 14 June: Running parallel to the main conference will be a Primary Fringe Event, dedicated to STEM in primary schools. This includes a primary focussed agenda, keynote speakers, seminars and demos. This is an ideal opportunity for primary school STEM professionals to learn more about these key subjects.
4. Skilled for Success Conference & Showcase, Tuesday 14 June: The main conference & showcase provides a forum for members of industry, policy makers, and educators to look at what is being done already to produce innovative and integrated approaches to STEM teaching and learning, and to debate the role of schools, colleges, universities and industry in advancing STEM education.
