New Science for Society Website and Competition!
A new resource and competition where teachers can find activities focus on the contribution that science, design and technology can make to environmental sustainability, social justice and peace.
Science4Society Week is a collection of science education activities, co-ordinated by Scientists for Global Responsibility and designed to inspire young people. It takes place in March each year - 13-19th March 2017. The activities focus on the contribution that science, design and technology can make to peace, social justice and environmental sustainability.
There are free and downloadable resources which can be used at any time!
Science for Society are also running a design an ‘ECO-HOME EXPLAINER’ competition, which closes on 10th Feb 2017
This is an opportunity for young people to apply their creativity, curiosity and imagination to design an ‘Eco-home Explainer’ – an educational domestic energy display. An organisation that will be part of the judging panel will take up the design, produce the Eco-Home Explainer and use it at their events.
Three categories of entry Year 5-6, Year 7-9 and Year 10-13
