Get ready for the Solar Eclipse on 20th March, 2015

During British Science Week, on the morning of Friday 20 March, a solar eclipse will be visible over the UK. Between 80-95% of the Sun will be hidden from view, depending on where you are.

The British Science Week website has details of lots of eclipse-related events registered across the UK, and have created some fun activities you can do – using food! – to understand what’s going on.

The BBC is inviting schools to participate in two projects: a citizen science activity, the Solar Eclipse Wind Experiment, with the University of Reading and BBC Learning (to provide weather observation from around the UK; and Eclipse Watch, where schools who have webcams may be able to help capture the eclipse.
