Mr Paul Wilton
Paul Wilton is the Project Management Practice Area Lead at Roke Manor Research responsible for the Roke’s APM accredited PM processes and for developing aspiring project managers. As a Senior Project Manager, he also manages some of Roke’s most significant projects. In addition to his PM roles, he has headed up Roke’s education outreach programme for the last 10 years.
Paul started at Roke nearly 30 years ago as an engineer in the Optics and Acoustics group where he worked on a variety of development projects which resulted in a number of patent. After moving into project management, he managed Roke’s world class acoustic weapon locating system (HALO) from deployment into the former Yugoslavia as an Urgent Operation Requirement for the British Army through is subsequent development into a mature product which is has been supplied to over 20 armies worldwide. In the civil domain, he worked on the London Congestion Charging scheme, rolled out of Roke’s next generation aircraft height monitoring system for Eurocontrol and has managed electronic product developments for a variety of customers in both the UK and the US.
Paul holds a BSc in Physics, is a chartered physicist, a Registered Project Professional and is a member of both the Institute of Physics and the Association of Project Management.
