Mr Colin Brook
Colin Brook was the first Director of the Winchester Science Centre and was responsible for the establishment of its first exhibition (it was then called INTECH) on the Romsey Road and the achievement of its first ever financial grant from the Gatsby Charitable Trust. This work resulted from his secondment by IBM UK for two and a half years in the late 1980s. Subsequently he has remained a Trustee ever since and is the longest serving Trustee.
Colin retired from IBM in 1993 after a 30 year career having worked in a wide range of professional and management areas including Systems Engineering, Sales and Marketing. He managed IBM’s Advanced Marketing Institute in La Hulpe, Belgium and, for the last few years of his career was a Principal Consultant in IBM’s Business Transformation Consulting Practice. After retiring Colin continued to practice in the Business Transformation and Process Re-engineering areas for several years before becoming an Associate Lecturer at Southampton Solent University where he taught, amongst other subjects, Business Strategy, Marketing, Process Design and Engineering on both under graduate and Masters programmes in the Business, Technology and Maritime faculties. Now fully retired, Colin enjoys singing, gardening, the outdoors and his family and Grandchildren.
Colin has an MA from Oxford in Theoretical Physics, is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Information Technology Professional and is a Member of the British Computer Society.
